Emptying process at recycling plantThe material (waste) is usually fed from the suction/rinsing vehicles or via skips. Material feeding via bucket wheel loaders or conveyor belts is also possible.

A distinction is made between direct and indirect material feed.

• In the case of direct material feed, the material is fed directly to the recycling plant via the feed hopper.

• In indirect material feed, the material is first fed into a buffer (metering buffer/feed hopper). From this buffer, the material is continuously fed to the recycling plant. This separates material feed and material recycling. A constant high quality of the recycling material, independent of feed quantity and feed speed, is thus ensured.
